Sumanth is making his comeback with a period film titled 'Ranam
(Revolution for Love)'. The muhurat of this film was held at Annapurna
Studios today (4th May 2003) morning at 10 am. Doyen ANR, Honorable
Minister Babu Mohan, Honorable Minister Sreenivasa Yadav, Dr.
D Rama Naidu did the honors for the muhurat shot.
Speaking
to press, the director D Suresh Kumar said that 'Ranam' has the
backdrop of Razakar's movement in Nizam during 1948. Sumanth is
playing the role of an engineering college student Rahul. He falls
in love with Anu. Sai Kiran is playing the role of Altaf - the
leader of Razakars and also the brother of Anu. In retaliation,
Altaf kills the family members of Rahul. The rest of the story
is about how the love of Rahul-Anu wins against the travails created
by Razakars.
For
the first time, the lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja is turning dialogue
writer for this film. Incidentally the parents of Ashok Teja were
among the freedom fighters who opposed Nizam's Razakar movement.
D Suresh Kumar worked for few TV serials in the past.
