Audio
function of 'Sri Anjaneyam' was held in a unique style
at a function organized at the lawns of Taj Krishna
on the night of 14th May 2004. The saffron colored
welcome door is scripted with 'Hanuman Chalisa'. When
you climb down the stairs, you have beautiful saree-clad
women holding turmeric (pasupu) and kunkuma to invite
women attending the function with Andhra-style welcome.
We have saffron clad pundits roaming around with chanting
of mantra. On the stage, we have the posters of Sri
Anjaneyam that feature Mani Sharma, Veturi and Sirivennela.
The backlit vinyl hoardings are splashed all over
the place with big photos of heroes of the night -
Mani Sharma, Veturi and Sirivennela. It is nice to
see Krishna Vamsi is giving due credit to the backbone
of music and songs of the film such a great tribute
by featuring their photographs. A big idol of Lord
Hanuman colored in green is the center of attraction
of function. The who and who of Telugu film industry
graced this occasion and made it a roaring success.
Ramya
Krishna started the event by giving introduction and
inviting hero Nitin, heroine Charmi, music director
Mani Sharma and lyricist Sirivennela Seetarama Sastri.
Speaking on this occasion director Krishna Vamsi said
that when nobody was coming forward to buy the audio
of Sri Anjaneyam at satisfactory prices, Maruthi Music
has offered fantastic amount and agreed to give the
overflows as well if the audio sales are excellent.
If nobody bought the audio rights at the price Krishna
Vamsi quoted, he thought of releasing audio on his
own and bundle the audio cassettes with the prints
and send them to the cinema halls directly. Krishna
Vamsi is in all praises for the lyrics written by
Sirivennela. Sirivennela penned lyrics for 5 songs
in this film. When Sirivennela fell sick, Krishna
Vamsi had to approach Veturi to pen the first song
of the film. Krishna Vamsi said that he has seen 5-6
reels of Sri Anjaneyam after background music is scored.
He opined that background music of this film is fantastic
and better than the background music of any of the
10 films he made so far (barring Ilayaraja's background
music in Anthahpuram).
Lyricist
Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry said that Krishna Vamsi's
brilliancy lies in telling intellectual and spiritual
story with out disturbing the regular commercial format.
He also praised the ability of Krishna Vamsi in telling
difficult things in a simple style. Sirivennela felt
that the theme of the film is 'if a man can control
his heart and mind, he can become Lord Anjaneya'.
He said that 'Tikamaka Makatika' song has given immense
job satisfaction. He is also in praises for the srungara
song in this film. He said that Ramathathvam, Ravana
Kaastam and Anjaneya Tatvam are present in all sections
of society in this world. And this film explores the
Anjaneya Tatvam. He is also in praise for the histrionics
of Nitin who played the role of 'Anji' in 'Sri Anjaneyam'.
Pramod
- who entered in to the world of music distribution
with Sri Anjaneyam - said that his father has Hindi
film distribution agency Maruthi Movies in Nizam area.
When Hindi films were doing badly, they have chosen
to enter the Telugu Film distribution and started
it with Family Circus. They had hit films like Okkadu,
Vasantham, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai, Varsham and Satyam
to their credit. They would be releasing Shankar Dada
and Adavi Ramudu in the days to come. Pramod thanked
Krishna Vamsi for entrusting his faith on them.
Sirivennela
and Mani Sharma release the audio and distributed
cassettes to the guests on the stage.
