Censor
clears Chiru and Balayya films
The examining
committees of Central Board of Film Certification have viewed and cleared
the films 'Narsimha Naidu' and 'Mrigaraju' on January
06 and 07 respectively. Both the units are racing against time to meet
the deadline in Prasad Labs and Sabdalaya studios respectively and release
the films as scheduled on January 11. 'Deviputrudu' release will
be on 14th of January. Meantime, Mahesh Murari's released is
shifted to 9th of February 2001. Nag's Aakasa Veedhilo would
be released around the same time. With the respective producers being
very confidant about their releases, Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for
the movie magic to unveil. Probably, for the first time in the recent
history, all the releases of Sankrathi are getting terrific insider
feedback.

Ties Knot
Southern
heartthrob Simran got married to choreographer-cum-actor Raju Sundaram
recently. The actress had made her debut in Hindi film with ABCL's Tere
Mere Sapne, opposite, Arshad Warsi. The duo's 'Aankh mare ladka
aankh mare from the film is still fondly remembered. But her role didn't
fetch her worthwhile films and she moved down South and soon became
to reckon with. Her performance in Valee garnered rave reviews.
While hubby Raju Sundaram is the brother of ace dancer and actor Prabhudeva,
and a top-notch choreographer down south and an actor in tamil and telegu
films. He was recently also seen Bombay Viking's music video 'Kya
surat hai, kya surat hai!'. Right now, Simran has the distinction
of having one film each under production with all four top heroes of
Telugu cinema and she is paid an astronomical amount of 25 lacs per
film.
Vijaya Shanti film in German film festival
Vijaya
Shanti's latest Malayala film 'Kallukondaru Penn' is selected
for the German film festival that's going to be held in May at Frankfurt.
Vijaya Shanti did act as Nurse in the time of war (early 1990 war) in
Kuwait. Suresh Gopi acted as the doctor. This film was released a couple
of months back and was commercially a hit. Maestro Ilaya Raja got a
state award for providing music for this film. Shyama Prasad has directed
this film. 60% of this film was shot in Kuwait.
